EXFOLIATE!

Ready to tan? Start by exfoliating your skin. Use a loofah, exfoliating pad, or a body scrub to gently get rid of dead skin cells – our self tanning application kit will give you all the tools you need for a perfect tan. This will help make sure your tan last as long as possible. Give your feet, ankles, wrists and elbows a little moisturizing love beforehand to help make sure they don’t end up darker than your body (these are extra porous areas). 

PRO TIP: wait a day or two after shaving before using our self tanner.  

Apply Self Tanner

Apply a quarter-size amount of our clean-ingredient self tanner onto your mitt or applicator brush. Begin applying in sections, starting from your legs and work your way up. Use long, sweeping motions to ensure a streak-free application. Make sure to apply more lightly and blend well on your wrists, ankles, and hands. For your back, apply tanner with a back applicator or grab a friend to help.

Let Your Tan Develop:

For best results, wait at least an hour with the tanner on your skin before showering, swimming, or doing any kind of aerobic exercise. After 6-8 hours, you'll see that beautiful tan develop. If you want to go darker, just reapply another coat after about an hour. Most people wait about 4-7 days before reapplying to maintain the perfect glow, but do what works for you. Apply lotion daily for longest lasting results.

Good question, DHA reacts by temporarily darkening your dead skin cells on the surface.
